My yoga journey began around 2011, "teaching" classes on the rooftop of The Coup, a local music venue and art collective that my now husband owned. We had no idea what we were doing but had fun doing it. In 2013, I started apprenticing under Felicia Robinson who gave me a strong foundation in alignment and the power of Vinyasa and Ashtanga. I was able to student teach, leading a couple of community classes a week but eventually, Agni closed and I wasn't able to finish my training. I took a 5 year hiatus from yoga and missed it terribly. In 2018, I decided to get my 200-hour certification at Asheville Yoga Center, continuing my 300-hour advanced training with AYC a year later.

Along the way I've had the privilege to study under teachers like Michael Johnson, Sierra Hollister, Indu Arora, and Gillian St. Claire. I have been deeply influenced by additional trainings through Paul Grilley and Bernie Clarke.

I've been teaching consistently for seven years and my first love is the power and dynamic movement of Vinyasa but I have a soft spot for the introspective, challenging stillness of Yin. Both offer such different, beautiful ways to connect.

In 2022, I took the leap and opened Humble Heart. I wanted to offer a space built on authenticity, community, and inclusivity. Although the journey was daunting and incredibly challenging, it proved to be one of the most rewarding experiences, made possible by a dedicated, supporting, encouraging team of friends and family.

I started yoga because of a knee injury, but yoga has a way of giving you more than you ever expected...patience, confidence, presence, compassion for others and most importantly yourself. Yoga has given me the tools to realize that the breath is king. If you have the tools to control your breath, you have the ability to control your thoughts, your reactivity, your emotions! I just love it so much and getting to share it with others makes me so happy. To witness the connection people make with each other and with themselves...it's so special.

I've lived in Clarksville since 1977! Ahhh!! It's grown so much! I am a BIG music lover and if you take any of my Tuesday classes, you'll get some music trivia sprinkled in the vinyasa lol

Off the mat, I enjoy hiking, biking, playing with my pups, and traveling with my life partner. l love gummy worms (no sour!),thunderstorms, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
